It is almost 2 in the morning- Christmas day- but I finished my bro’s hat! UUUHHHHH! Good night! (or is it morning?)
I didn’t get much knitting done today. I’ve got all of my family’s presents done and wrapped except my brother’s hat.(I got my dad the ‘Best of The Who’ CD) There’s still only like an inch of it. It goes pretty fast though, so if I work tomorrow I can probably finish it in time for X-mas. I don’t feel vrey good right now, so I’m going to take some Vitamin C, echinacea, and go to bed. I’ve gone to bed at about one in the morning every day over break and it isn’t very good for me.:( I just hope that I’m not sick for Christmas- Christmas Eve dinner is so good and so is Christmas morning breakfast and all the candy in my stocking… Better drink some orange juice with those vitamins. My mom told me a few weeks ago that she didn’t want to get me a hand-spindle because it would just be one more thing to clutter my floor (which is currently covered in a growing collection of yarn, needles, and shoes), but we were talking a lot about spinning yesterday so she might have changed her mind. (I hope so!) Oh my gosh! I just remembered- I knitted a baby blanket for my neighboors in October and still have not given it to them! Tomorrow seems like a good day; it could be as a Christmas present, but my dad was going to make ginger snaps so it would be a more rounded gift. Crud. I’ll have to ask him about that. (ooo- we got a new car today- a Mazda 6. My mom told my dad that he has to build a barn because our garage can’t hold our cars, lawnmower, bikes, and off road motorcycles
)
Well, if I plan on getting back to normal, I better get some sleep.
Well, I’ve inherited a right eye that crosses involuntarily when I’m tired from my mom.
I was knitting pretty late last night and couldn’t focus on it at all. I looked into the mirror, and my right eye was facing inward and my left eye was straight. UGH! I finished my mom’s mini sweater; I’m going to take a picture of it before I sew the seams because it looks really funny. I need to work on my brother’s hat though, so I’ll go now.
I’ve had several cats taken by coyotes, but this morning my dad got a coyote that was running by our house! For, Christmas, I might get its head mounted.
I’ve started a hat for my brother, the mini sweater for my mom, and I’m looking for a good mittens pattern for my brother (I want to knit it on dpn’s with worsted weight yarn to fit a men’s med or large, if anybody knows of any good patterns) I’m also giving my mom a red and black hat I knit over the summer and am going to wrap up the hat I made for my other brother a couple weeks ago and say that it is his X-mas gift.
I have no idea what to give my dad, though. His birthday was just last week (I gave him a chocolate toolset), so I’m not sure what to make/buy.
Now that break is here, I can knit for me, for fun! I worked on my green sweater today, and I learned that *each* likes to hie in pattern directions before the word *end* (as in decrease 1 stitch at each end) For the second time on this sweater, I have read that as *decrease 1 stitch at end*. Repeat to self: "Frogging is my friend, frogging is my friend"
We got a Christmas tree today! We waited so long because we were waiting for my brother to get home from college. It was fun. I started reading The Fellowship of the Ring last night. (I read The Hobbit last year and didn’t like it. I’m hoping this will be better) Only 4 days ’til Christmas! I’m giving my mom a miniature sweater ornament because I plan on knitting her a cardigan but want her to be able choose the yarn and style. I’m also going to give my bro a mini hat because I promised to knit him a hat and mittens yesterday but there isn’t time before Christmas. I think I’ll make my dad a mini sock.
