I went to Wal-Mart and got the copy of Interweave Knits with the pants pattern in it. My mon wouldn’t let me buy yarn though. I have 3 projects going and 6 more planned, and she doesn’t want me to get any more yarn. She said I won’t even need anything by next Christmas, but I intend to prove her wrong. Over summer I intend to get a LOT of knitting done.
I’ve been plugging away on my second sock; right now I’m on the gusset decreases. Yesterday we went to see Barber Shop 2, and I brought my sock along. It was really hard to knit at first- it was pitch dark and I was paranoid about dropping a stitch. After awhile I got used to it, and got a couple inches done during the movie.
Ha! There is a knit-a-long going for knitted pants from Interweave Knits! I have to get a copy of that magazine! It is such a weird idea, but it’s cool. Plus they are made out of Lion Brand Homespun. I love that stuff.
Hm- I haven’t posted for almost a week- bad me! I finished my first Magic Stripes sock and cast on the second. Our town library is awful, so I went to Garland and got Twisted Sisters Sock Workbook, the Complete Book of Spinning, and the Big Book of Knitting. (plus a book for school) I want to make the thong socks that have a place for the big toe and another part for the 4 little toes. I finally ordered the pattern and needles for my mom’s cardigan (on Sunday) so they should be coming in soon. Only 2 weeks of school before Spring Break! We don’t have a vacation planned yet, but we’re thinking of going to Arizona- great hiking! We’re really lucky because my brother’s break at college is the same as mine. Whenever we go on vacation, I look up the place we’re going to see if they have a yarn store. So much nicer than my local Hobby Lobby!
I haven’t been doing much of anything lately. I’ve worked a little on my socks, but what I really need to do is just finish my brother’s hat. I also need to order a size 3 circ for both my summer top and my mom’s cardi. But today I have homework to do.
My cat has very long hair. And he sheds. A lot. In the Knitting Digest I got yesterday, there was an article on spinning dog hair! So, I’m thinking I’ll start saving up kitty hair to spin and knit! It’s crazy, but it seems cool. It seems like I’ve gotten a ton already, but I know when I spin it it will be gone in a flash. It’s a good time to start saving it up, though- the weather is warming up and he is shedding like crazy.
