I’ve gotten to the heel on my first rainbow sock, and I tried the hourglass from the Twisted Sister’s Sock Workbook, but it didn’t work. And I’m pretty sure it won’t turn out any better if I try it again, so I’m just going to do a normal gusset heel. I haven’t given up on the thong toe though!

I emailed BlogCity again yesterday, and they didn’t really give me an answer, so I responded to their email. That would be… the third time I’ve emailed them about the picture issue to no avail. Hopefully this time they’ll be able to figure something out.

On Tuesday I leave for vacation! We’re driving to Palo Duro Canyon for several days of hiking! Fun! There’s a yarn store in Amarillo, which is near the canyon, so hopefully I will be able to visit that! And I get 10 hours of car knitting- it takes 5 hours to get there. I still have not gotten the pattern for my mom’s cardigan- when the needles came it said the pattern was backordered and would ship approximately March 1. It’s been two weeks! Anyway, I’ll be bringing my socks, my brother’s hat (oh, the guilt), my summer top, and maybe a skein of yarn to start on my cabled sweater if I get bored with my other projects.

I knit quite a bit last night on the summer top, and my thumb is aching. I knit a little today, but when purling, instead of using my thumb to flip the yarn over the needle I used my middle finger. It still hurt, though. I’m knitting the back and front at the same time  until the shaping of the armholes, because you do different things for each side at that point. This week is Spring Break. mmmmm! My thumb is bothering me though- I suppose I should take a break from my knitting so I don’t make it worse, but I don’t want to!
