I seemed to have abandoned my knitting for wandering around outside or reading while eating butter pecan ice cream. (my favorite) I got Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights from my school library- I think I’m the first person to get past the first 100 pages of Jane Eyre- there are no longer any wrinkles or dog-eared pages.  It’s interesting so far- I’ve had lots of time to read at school with the TAKS (statewide testing). Maybe when school lets out I’ll be able to concentrate on my knitting again. There’s just too much going on right now.

I’ve been really busy lately- my drill team spring show is in a week and our officer routine isn’t finished, TAKS testing is next week, I’ve got 2 projects, I had 3 tests during the week, I started voice lessons, and I had my audition for the competition team at the studio where I’ve been dancing. I made the senior team! I’ve neglected my knitting and my blog- square 2 is only a inch so far5, my summer top is plodding, I’m barely to the heel of rainbow socks. I need to crack down and finish things!

My title rhymes! Well, I just finished the first square. And I figured out how to take a great picture- take it outside!
On someone’s (don’t remember who) knitblog they had a picture of mutant strawberries. Well, I got a couple of mutant strawberries myself (the bottom one is a normal size) The one on the left reminds me of a pumpkin!
The menorah was my English project. I added a collage in the shape of the Star of David behind it, but I didn’t get to take a picture of that. And of course, the written stuff. I’m very proud of it.

Well, since I can’t seem to focus on any of the projects I’ve got going (They’re all stockinette stitch- miles of it in the sweatpants, plus my summer top is plain stockinette, and the feet of my rainbow socks are plain stockinette) I started a square my Great American Aran Afghan. I chose one of the easy ones. It isn’t very quick knitting- I actually have to pay attention to what I am doing! I just needed a little variety, I guess.

I’ve been really off this week- it’s getting dark so late at night. I normally get on the computer and I know when it is getting dark (about 5) that I need to get off and do somethine useful. Now, with spring and daylight savings, it’s 8 before it gets dark. So confusing! I haven’t gotten any knitting done. My project for English got the little best of class award (5 extra points) so I got a 105! Yay!
I drank a milkshake before dance, and I felt awful the whole time. Milkshake and really long super speed hip-hop dance do not go well together!
