I finished the decreases on the summer top, and I’ve only got about an inch and a half before the armholes. Of course, once I get there I still have 7 1/2 more inches before I’m done, but still… getting closer!
I’ve noticed a pattern in my knitting- I work in spurts. When I start a project, I get all excited over how it will be when I’m done, and I finish about half the project in just a few days. Then a month or two passes were I do nothing at all, and then suddenly I get inspired again and finish the project in a few more days of non-stop knitting. So my list of WIPs never goes down, because by the time I’ve finished a project, I have several more half done!
I worked on my summer top for awhile- aka the ‘purple thingy’. The knitting is really slow since I’m doing the front and back at the same time, and I’m increasing. After the increases are done and a little straight knitting, I’ll be to the armholes! So close! I got my blue halter top fixed up almost completely- I sewed down the straps to cross in the back now, added elastic, and laced the two triangles up in the middle. I need to line the triangles- they’ve stretched a bit, and they’re sort of see-through. Now that was a project that took awhile- I knit the whole thing in less than a week last summer, and it’s taken me the whole rest of the year to sew it all together so it doesn’t look inappropriate.
I need to work on my sweat pants, too. I just want to knock ‘purple thingy’ out of the way before approaching anything else…
My parents got me a flatscreen monitor for my birthday! It’s awesome! I have so much room on my desk without a big hulking monitor! My old monitor was getting blurry in the top left, and this one seems SO clear! And it’s big! 6 days until summer! Lots of free time to wander about and knit! And next week we get Monday off- review Tues, exams Wed, Thur, no school Fri! Things are finally winding down- I had my last Algebra test, my last History test is on Friday, and we’ve turned in all of our books except Algebra.
I didn’t get much knitting done yesterday because I had to clean my room, but I’ll work on my socks and summer top tonight.
Well, I think I’ve finally gotten back into working on my knitting. I made some progress on my rainbow socks yesterday- I’m to the gusset decreases now. I didn’t make the play I was hoping to get in.
There are politics in everything- theatre, drill team, etc. You have to have connections. It gets rather frustrating, trying to break your way in. Oh well. More time for knitting then.
A few weeks ago I started socks for my mom (ah another WIP) because she wanted a pair like I knitted my for TAG teacher for Christmas, crazy colors and all. I don’t think I ever posted a picture of those:

Anyway, I tried two color ribbing for the top of my mom’s socks- orange and yellow. It’s pretty funny- she’ll love it.
I think I got all of them! I went back in the archives and replaced every picture, even the ones that were still intact. I had to hunt all of them down on my computer, too- I’m very disorganized. I’ve got pictures scattered everywhere- my documents, my pictures, my shared pictures, the desktop, everwhere imaginable. I had to go down the list and run a search for quite a few that I couldn’t easily find.
