I actually worked on my knitting today! I got a couple of inches done on my mom’s cardi. I also bought batting and backing for my quilt. Right now I’m trying to force my pointe shoes into submission- since they’re new, they’re stiff and impossible to dance in.

The quilting class was fun, although we only made the quilt top.

I started my mom’s cardigan:

It isn’t a very clear picture at all; the yarn is green and the border there is in seed stitch.

NoSweat Pants haven’t gotten worked on lately. I haven’t been knitting nearly as much as I had hoped I would over the summer.

I had the first half of my quilitng class today. It was enjoyable, and I found quilting to be a lot more involved than I had thought. I finished two of the four blocks. I’m such a perfectionist; it got annoying. Whenever my seam was slightly off, I would rip it out and sew it again.

The pattern for my mom’s cardi came in! I promised her at Christmas it would be done for her birthday in July, and I’ll probably still be able to do it, but it will take a lot more effort if it had come in February when we ordered it. I’ve had the yarn waiting all this time!

I started pointe last night, which is ballet up on the tips of your toes. Normally you take ballet before pointe, but I’ve never taken any ballet. I did all right, but my toes are sore today. They got blisters. My arms are sore too, but that is from my brother taking me to a climbing gym over the weekend, which was really fun. No other knitting news, though.

Well, on Patternworks the cardigan pattern I ordered for my mom was delayed again- to the 29th. (I ordered it in February) We called, and they said that they had so many on backorder we probably wouldn’t even get ours when they came in, and we cancelled that order. So, with a bit of searching on the internet, I found the same pattern at KnitPicks, and for less money! Hopefully that one will come soon. Thanks for all of the comments about my summer top!

I signed up for a Kids’ Quilting class at the local Quiltworks (wish there was a yarn store…), and all of those supplies are really expensive! Some of it, though, will never have to be bought again, so that’s ok. I’m doing a musical theatre camp this week, and it’s from 1:30 to 4 everyday, which is messing with my head. It makes the time in the morning and the time in the evening seem much shorter.

My NoSweat Pants are about 12 inches long. It’s quick, but boring, knitting.

Well, the midnight showing of Harry Potter was awesome- I went and saw it again yesterday morning. It was more fun the first time, because the audience was all teenagers instead of little kids. The movie is so much better than the first two- the new director did a great job, and characters seemed like people.
I knitted a little on my socks while waiting for the movie to start, but not much. The pattern I used for my top, by the way, is Sirdar patten #5092. I got it from Wool Connection- on the website it is on the third page of women’s summer sweaters.
