We’re leaving this morning for Lubbock! Six hours there, six hours back Sunday night. (And school the next morning.) I’ll be visiting a yarn store called Shaggy Sheep Yarn and Notions on Saturday. I wound my Koigu into balls yesterday and finished one front of the green cardi, and I’m getting close on the second front. I had hoped to finish more, but I went out on the lake with a friend. I need to finish annotating To Kill a Mockingbird (I’ve already read it, now I just have to go back and highlight), and then I’ll finish up the other front, the back, and cast on the sleeves. Hopefully I can get all that done in the car today.

Whee! My KPPPM came in the mail today!

I can’t wait to start Charlotte!! I need to finish green cardi first, though- they both use size 6 needles. I’m using my Denise Interchangeables, so I could just move the needles to a different cord, except that…. I’m using all the cords.
I’m nearly to the neck shaping on one of the fronts:
(That line on the front is just the cord from the back making a lump)
I got new contacts today! My eyes have gotten progressively worse since I got glasses in fifth grade, and it always feels good to get a new prescription and be able to see individual blades of grass again!

I got my dpn’s yesterday! (and OzeYarn sent yarn sample cards. oooh!)

That’s the ones, twos, and zeros. I’m holding them in their sets with braces rubber bands!
I started Making Waves on the 1.5’s, but didn’t actually get to the waves, as I spent the rest of the day cleaning. (a rare occurence in my room!) It looks lovely though, and I can see the floor! (Usually it’s covered in books, flip-flops, and knitting)

I’m past the armhole shaping on both fronts and the back of my mom’s cardi now. I’m hoping to finish those 3 pieces this week and do the sleeves over the weekend, when we drive my brother up to Lubbock for college (Texas Tech). (And if-unlikely- someone remembers us driving him to Arkansas last year, he transferred and switched majors at the last minute.)

I’ve been school shopping, and I saw the funniest pair of shoes at Ross, which I had to buy even though they will only be worn at Halloween. (as a slightly insane witch)

I’ve gotten several inches done on the right front of my mom’s cardi in the past two days. I haven’t finished the other front or the back; it will feel like more of an accomplishment to finish all three at once.

Progress on sock #2

*happydance* I got an email from Four Seasons today saying the two skeins on order had come in. The red one (bottom in first picture), though, had changed completely with the new dyelot (think bright pink!), so I replaced it with a new, orange-er skein and moved it from bottom to top:
