I finished Jeff’s battle helm last night! I’m quite proud of the wings and beak, as they’re completely out of my own head. (Yay for my crazy head!)
It’s a bit big on me; I had to push it up so I could see.
Angry battle face! (Don’t worry, I’m not always that freaky looking) (though the ugly braces are always there) (and have been for four years now) (can’t wait ’til March- they’re apparently coming off then!)

We started out the morning with drizzling rain, and then it turned to ice, and now it’s snowing! (This is quite odd. Yesterday it was sunny and 70.)

Here is Pengel the Penguin. He doesn’t have eyes or wings yet.

To avoid finishing little Pengel (or Jeff’s battle helm) I did this. Square number two of the Great American Aran Afghan. I started one with a tree on it last night. Here is square one, from March.

Ah, it feels good to be on break. The Nutcracker is over, so I don’t even have to go to dance for these two weeks. (It went well, by the way. I messed up in several of my minor dances, but my solo I nailed.)

I’m about to keel over and die from exhaustion. My geometry project is done; I didn’t even procrastinate, surprisingly. We could also make a kite for extra credit- mine, of course, will never fly, me being architecturally impaired. Being quite brilliant in other areas, I made a nice little cd with a video taken by my dad with the digital camera- of me launching the kite with a bottle rocket hot-glued to its back. I better get some credit for creativity, anyway!

So, I have musical rehearsal until six or seven each night, and dance T, W, and Th of course. Nutcracker dress rehearsal is tomorrow and the show is on Saturday, so I’ll have to miss play practice. My coccyx is sore again- I’m going to need to go back to the chiropractor after the show, as he told me that the tendons holding it in place were quite weak after it being messed up for a month or two and it was likely to pop back out again. Then I’ll have two weeks for Christmas to rest and heal. Ah, yes. That will be nice. Very nice.

I’m knitting the cute little penguin from the winter Knitty. I’ve done the front and back and three feet pieces.

I haven’t knit this week! I’ve been sitting around doing nothing, nibbling on the Dove dark chocolates and York peppermint patties that my mom bought for Christmas. (So good!) I had a dance performance in the park yesterday evening, and yesterday morning I went to the chiropractor for my tailbone pain. Appartently, my coccyx was jammed and he had to pop it back into its proper place. It’s still quite sore, but I’ll survive.

I printed out my novel (of course, it’s stopped in mid-chapter) with 1.7 spacing (double is good for editing, but it just seemed too big) and it is 157 pages long. It doesn’t even sound like I wrote it. Quite weird. I don’t know if it’s any good or not, but I gave it to my mom to read.

My creative writing teacher is trying to arrange a field trip where we go to Borders bookstore, lunch, and then see Finding Neverland. (I’ve already seen it, but I’m open to watching it again!)  I hope we do, because I need to get Christmas presents for my family; I have things in mind for my mom (a dvd of The Station Agent) and my brother (A Game of Thrones- we have it at home, but he wants another copy since he’s off at college.)
