I finished the knitting of the pink sweater last Sunday, but I’ve yet to weave in the ends or crochet a tie for the front.

I guess I haven’t been knitting much lately, eh? Or updating my blog. Sorry. I have auditions not this Monday but the next for the theatre production group at my high school. I have to prepare two monolouges, a comedy and a drama. I just picked them out today, so I’ve got a week to get them ready. Yikes. My serious is Shakespearean- from Desdemona in Othello.

I’ve been pretty busy- I started Driver’s Ed, took a trip to San Antonio with choir, danced in the drill team’s spring show. I’ve got five tests in the next three days, plus a presentation. I’ve been pretty overloaded this whole year, haven’t I?

My cat, Prince (the star of my blog banner), has managed to pretty much declaw himself. He’s been lethargic and limping a bit for a couple of days, and I looked and couldn’t find the front four claws on each foot and one on a back foot. We took him to the vet today, and in fact he lost nine claws. We’re pretty sure it happened Sunday night when he was climbing on the porch screen walls (he sleeps in the porch at night so the coyotes can’t attack him).
One back foot is intact, one is missing one claw, and both front feet have only the thumb claw. :( We have antibiotic and pain pills to give him.
They had to sedate him to examine his feet, and even though it was a small dose he got really, really out of it. Besides the fact that you could see him breathing, he looked like a corpse. His eyes were open and glazed over, and he didn’t respond to touch at all. They had to give him another shot to cancel the effects of the sedation after they were done, and they had to shave his leg for that. Poor baby. At least he’s not in pain anymore because of the pain pills, and he won’t get an infection.

I’m done with the play I was doing at the freshman center, and for the first time in months I got to eat dinner with my family! Woo! It was really nice, coming home right after school. I actually like (besides the losing an hour of sleep part) daylight savings. It means I have more time to wander about outside. And more oppurtunity to get poison ivy, of course. *scratches at legs

I’m getting pretty close to finishing the pink sweater. The side seams are sewn, and part of the sleeve seams are sewn. I’m not finished knitting the sleeves though. A few more inches and I can start the frills.
