Made some progress on the satchel strap. I’ve still got a long way to go.

The preview of the Hobbit is tomorrow night and we open on Thursday. I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone by.

My government test was moved to today. I think I did all right, but I’m not so sure that I got an A. I hate my prof; he hasn’t taught us a single thing. His tests come straight from the $90 paperback book he wrote himself and therefore makes a cut on. When I say straight from the book, I mean it- there were several questions that asked nothing but ‘what is in table 14-1?’, etc. That’s really teaching me a lot about government, mm hmm. I like my history class, though. Prof’s pretty nice, subject’s interesting. My first test in there is tomorrow. I have another government test, too, ick, which will take a quite a bit of studying today because it’s memorization.

I started two courses at Eastfield Community College today. Government from 7:30 to 9:30, American History from 9:40 to 11:40. I’m officially a college student, I suppose. I’m probably the youngest in my classes, since technically you have to be a junior in high school to take dual credit, and I’m only a sophomore with the credit hours of a junior. Oh well, it isn’t like anyone will care or notice. Except for the fact that my mom meets me afterward because I can’t drive without a liscensed adult in the car, haha.

I’m obviously filling this entry up with other things because I don’t have any knitting to show. Actually, I do, I just don’t have any pictures yet. I have my first Government test on Thursday, and tomorrow I have no time to study- class until 11:40, volunteer 1-5, play practice 6-9. I guess I should go now, then, and study.

This is the strap of the Monk’s Travel Satchel. 6x72 inches of seed stitch. Very daunting. It feels like it’s going pretty quickly, though.

I taught my mom to knit today! I’m excited, and I hope she takes to it. Her first project is a typical garter stitch scarf, but it is destined to be much better looking than mine. I was the only knitter in the house when I made mine- I had no idea what I was doing and the easist way, I thought, to fix dropped stitches or the like was to tie them together with a piece of thread. Not in a matching color, mind you. Mi madre has me, of course, to come to the rescue whenever she’s slipped a stitch a few rows before or dropped one and had it go running.

I bought some yarn to make a satchel. I never finished the other bag though, erk.

My brother got a laptop, so he gave me his old computer. It is much better than my old one, not to mention cooler. It has a black and silver case with a clear side through which you can see red and blue lights. It has a handle on top to carry it, too. Oh, and it’s got a crystal looking thing in the front. Hah!

I wish I was bilingual. Next year will be second in Spanish, but pretty much all I’m capable of saying are things along the lines of "Soy Caitlin. Tengo quince anos. Soy de California y estoy en Texas." Would "I knit" be "tricoto"? I’ll be taking French next year, too, so I hope I don’t get confused.
