Last Thursday was my sixteenth birthday, and I went the morning of to get my driver’s license! I’ve only had it for about a week, but driving seems so natural already. (except yesterday- I sprained my ankle at fencing Wednesday night and maintaining consistent speed was rather difficult with such a tender leg)

Today is my last day of school- I’m exempt from all of my exams next week. I’ve been busy with numerous end-of-year things the past couple weeks- choir and theatre banquets, awards ceremony, field trips, and of course the projects and tests my teachers love to throw in at the very end of the year. I had a piano recital on Tuesday- I completely butchered a piece I had played nearly flawlessly at home about an hour before. It wasn’t that miserable for me, though, since my family has heard me play it well and everyone knew I was a beginner.

While I’ve been rather busy after school and thus haven’t had much time for blogging, I have had a lot of downtime in classes that are winding down this week. My satchel is entirely sewn together, though I haven’t added the little ties to the front. I’m not sure when I’ll get around to that!

I really like it, though technically it isn’t finished.

Last night three of my friends and I met at Starbuck’s for the first meeting of our summer writing club. Next year the four of us will be at three different schools, so a school club won’t really work, and we wanted a different atmosphere where we could just write without worrying about time or sponsors or any of the like. It was a great couple of hours, and we plan on meeting again as soon as we can. They even elected me president!
