I’ve had an exciting few days! On Thursday I went to Hobby Lobby after class and bought some lovely #10 crochet cotton- dark blue- which I fashioned into a small doily yesterday afternoon and this morning. It was quite fun and I can foresee a doily addiction in the near future…

Also on Thursday I cast on for the right front of Butterfly, and it’s almost done now. I finished the left front today. I began to panic, thinking I would not have enough yarn, but when I looked in my cupboard I had two more skeins than I had expected. It’s really surprising me how quickly I’m moving along on this sweater. I like it, I suppose, but it’s also rather unsettling. What happened to my slow, plodding pace? I rather enjoyed the joy of finishing something that took so many months of work. Will it be as satisfying to whip through something?

And now the most exciting part of my weekend- I went to the Woolie Ewe and met Monkee! It was awesome to see in real life that I’ve known for awhile on the Internet. We both truly exist! We are not creepy old internet-stalker-men!

At the Woolie Ewe, I bought two things: the pattern for the Tina Shawl and two skeins of sock yarn in greenish-yellowish-grayish. Anyone notice a color theme? Everything I make is green or blue! I must break this habit! (Well, I have knit a lilac sweater.. and a pink sweater.. and a yellow hat)

I have not yet purchased yarn for the Tina Shawl. I like color. I don’t want white- everyone does Shetland shawls in white or beige. I want something eyecatching! We’ll see.
